My Life in a Nut Shell

3 surgeries for Endometriosis, countless medications, and lots of difficult years trying to conceive. We put the medical stuff on hold and decided to work on being parents instead. In July of 2000 we were blessed beyond all measure with a phone call announcing the birth of our daughter, Megan. Megan's birth mother had given birth the day before and was leaving the hospital. We had no warning that Megan was coming. At 4:29 in the afternoon we were a couple, at 4:30 we were parents. Deciding that we wanted a sibling for Megan, we looked into all our options. This time insurance covered IVF. One round and we were blessed with triplets, Abigail, Brigid, and Caroline. Did you know that there is a 70% chance of divorce in families of Higher Order Multiples? Almost two years after the triplets were born my ex-husband and I separated and eventually divorced. During that time both my Mother and Father passed away from cancer. In February of 2007 my sister came to live with us to help out. In December of 2008 she had to leave so now it is me on my own with the girls. In February 2010, Lisa passed away and finally found her own Peace.

Well, Here goes!!

Hi All. This is my first blog. I love posting the pictures of the girls and can't wait to post new ones for Christmas. The girls had a great holiday. Santa Claus surprised all of us with lots of new things. Some elves from our church also surprised us. All day Christmas Eve people kept coming by with gifts. Including an un-named family who sent an elf over at 9:00 p.m.!! Christmas morning was a hoot. It took over an hour for the girls to unwrap everything. megan dove into her gifts and pretty much had everything open first. Brigid was more excited to hand out presents to everyone instead of opening her own. Caroline took a really long time to open hers because she had to study every gift she got. and Abigail finally got tired of opening everything and said, "No, I don't want anymore presents." This was only halfway through!! One of the best gifts we got was to the movie theater. So yesterday we took the girls to see WaterHorse. They loved it!!! We had popcorn (from the theater!) and drinks. It's a very cute movie. Then we went to Build-A-Bear and each girl got to make their own. Megan picked a horse, of course. Brigid picked a tan bear, Caroline a dog, and Abby picked a dolly. It was the first time the girls had made one. Megan has been before. These came from a gift certificate the triplets got and Megan used her money from her GodMother, Aunt Joyce, to buy her horse. We also got gift certificates to Carnival Shoes and everyone got to go and get new shoes! This was my favorite present because they usually wear hand-me-downs or shoes from Goodwill. What a treat!!
